SHRO is a nonprofit organization that finances and promotes the work of established researchers and young scientists in medicine, molecular biology, genetics, physics, chemistry and biomathematics. Ongoing projects include the links between obesity and cancer;molecular analysis of tumors; genomics and proteomics; epigenetic control of cancer development and progression; drug development; diagnostic tool development; and, small molecule gene therapy.
