Good Practices in Scientific Publications Management for the journals of the São Paulo State Health Department
The Portal of Scientific Journals, makes available the five main journals of SES/SP (Boletim Epidemiológico Paulista, Boletim do Instituto de Saúde, Cadernos de História da Ciência, Hansenologia Internationalis: leprosy and other infectious diseases, Revista do Instituto Adolfo Lutz), which are undergoing a process of adjustment and improvements, and currently have a specific consultancy, with the support of the Fesima Project.
Several actions are under development simultaneously with each journal, including specific meetings, adaptation for future submissions, inclusion in new indexes and various trainings in the area.
On August 12, teams from all journals received training on Best Practices in Management of Scientific Journals, given by Juliana Lima https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9399-673X , librarian at the Federal University of Ceará and one of the associate editors of DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journal).
The programmatic content included topics such as management and planning; layout and publishing platforms; transparency and ethics and integrity policy; disclosure, accessibility and visibility; and trends and innovations.
These actions aim to strengthen and expand the visibility of scientific journals, now accessible through an open access digital platform that is interoperable with national and international systems, in addition to contributing to the management of scientific and technical knowledge in health at SES/SP.
